Attack victim rushed to RAH
Cops are investigating after a man suffered injuries to his head and body in a Paisley street.
The 51-year-old man was attacked in the town’s Argyle Street close to its junction with Walker Street around 7.50pm on Wednesday night.
Detectives say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident after the man sustained a fractured rib and facial wounds.
He was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment and later released.
Officers are keen to speak to a man and woman who are believed to have been in the street along with other people at the time of the incident.
The man is described as being in his 40s with grey hair and the woman is described as having red hair.
I t ’ s understood an altercation may have taken place where the man suffered the injuries to his head and body.
Cops added they are treating the investigation as a serious assault inquiry as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s wounds.
Detective Inspector Ross MacDonald, from Paisley CID, asked members of the public to come forward with information.
He said: “We a re investigating after a 51-yearold- man was subjected to a serious assault in Argyle Street in Paisley at around 7.50pm on Wednesday night.
“He suffered a fractured rib and facial injuries. He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment and later released.
“At this stage we are working to establish what happened to the man and I would appeal to anyone with information, particularly in relation to a man and woman who were in the street at the time, to come forward.
“We will be carrying out door-to-door enquiries and CCTV checks as we continue to investigate.”
