Leadership book launched at university
A new book by a Paisley academic that explores leadership in the modern world has been launched.
The event for Leadership Theory and Research: A Critical Approach to New and Existing Paradigms took place at the University of the West of Scotland.
The book aims to provide a critical insight into leadership research.
Dr Christian Harrison, of the university’s School of Business and Enterprise, said:“I am delighted by the positive response I received at the official launch event for the book at the Paisley campus.
“In the book I establish that leadership is an under-developed phenomenon, for which no unified theory currently exists.
“Previous leadership books have traditionally focused narrowly on a limited set of elements by highlighting the leader while overlooking relevant elements of leadership.
“This book takes a holistic view of the phenomenon.
“I would like to thank everyone for attending and making the event a success.”
The university says the publication is an ideal text for students, academics, practitioners and policy makers seeking an overview of existing leadership research and who are keen to gain some insight into leadership practices in modern contemporary organisations.
