Café supports kids’ charity
Sheriff court eatery raises vital funds
A new café has launched in Paisley – with the aim of showing locals just how delicious giving back can be.
The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity swung open its doors to its new eatery inside the Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday.
The café – run entirely by volunteers – will help raise vital funds to care for children and their families in hospitals across Glasgow and the west.
The organisation will take over the café from Beanfeast Charity for Children, following their announcement that they would no longer be operating the service in the sheriff court.
As well as fundraising for Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children, the café will also support the children’s outpatient and neonatal departments at Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital, fund enhanced medical equipment, hospital play and events, and enhancements to paediatric outpatient areas.
Kirsten Sinclair, director of fundraising, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We are delighted to have this wonderful opportunity to re-launch the café, and have already received such a warm welcome from staff at the Sheriff Court.
“We rely on the support of individuals, companies and communities alike to help support our young patients.
“We simply could not do the work we do in hospitals across Glasgow and the West without the help of our generous supporters and volunteers.
“Many people from Paisley and the surrounding areas will have a connection to our work at the RAH and Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children, so our café will serve as a great way for people to support young patients in hospital from their local communities.”
The café will be open Monday to Friday at the sheriff court.
