Battered teen left with facial fractures

-

A teenager was left with horrific facial fractures after he was battered by two youths in broad daylight.

The 17- year- old was repeatedly punched to the face by the violent pair as he walked with a female friend close to the Watermill Hotel in Paisley.

It is understood the thugs, who are also believed to be in their teens, asked the lad for a cigarette before goading him into a brawl.

They smashed the boy’s face, leaving it a bloody mess before fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained a number of serious fractures to his face and is being treated at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Detectives say the incident happened at around 6.15pm on Saturday, but was only reported to them on Monday.

The suspects are described as being aged between 15 and 18.
