Meet Mhairi Volunteers hailed
This is Volunteers’ Week, giving everyone the chance to celebrate the contribution volunteers make to their communities.
This year’s event is celebrating volunteering for all.
From trustees and campaigns to carers and fundraisers, charities and voluntary groups, they are all taking the opportunity to recognise the fantastic and unique contribution all volunteers make.
I regularly meet with local groups, charities and organisations around Renfrewshire and many of these fantastic initiatives would not exist without the work and dedication of our committed volunteers.
I recently visited the British Heart Foundations Clearance Store, in Paisley High Street, to meet with the hardworking staff and volunteers in the shop.
Store manager Ben highlighted to me that the shop is in need of more volunteers to help out.
If you are looking for some retail experience in a fun and challenging atmosphere, I would urge you to pop into the store and have a chat with Ben about how you can help out.
I would urge anyone who has a passion or concern for an issue to get involved in volunteering as it can be so gratifying to know that you are doing your bit to help.
Volunteers are vital for business, charities, and organisations across Renfrewshire and volunteering is always a great way to meet new people and gain some experience.
This Volunteer Week, if you have been thinking about getting involved with a cause, then now is the time to do it.
