AMBITION IS THE NAME OF THE GAME FOR NEW SAINTS GAFFER
St Mirren look set to be reunited with Jack Ross this summer – with new gaffer Alan Stubbs confirming the club are to face Sunderland in a friendly.
Ross will bring his Black Cats north of the border for the clash with his former Buddies on Saturday, July 21, with the Saints not scheduled to have a Betfred Cup group stage encounter that afternoon.
Saints have yet to confirm their full pre-season schedule but Stubbs revealed that he is keen to pick the brains of the club’s former gaffer when he returns to town.
He said: “I haven’t spoken to Jack yet but I will do.
“We have a game against Sunderland here in preseason. I’ll speak to him beforehand and get a brief insight into this club from him.
“I think the one thing I’ve realised from my last job, in terms of what I took from it as an experience, is the need to speak to more people.
“I’ll certainly bounce things off a few more people going forward.
“You have to try and gain as much knowledge as you can.”
Ross left St Mirren a fortnight ago following a whirlwind 18 months at the helm of the Paisley side.
Having dramatically steered the club away from the danger of relegation, Ross signed off with the Championship title at the end of last season.
Big finish Jack Ross
