Saints set to bring backroom staff on board

-

St Mirren are striving to appoint Alan Stubbs’ backroom staff in the coming days as the new gaffer makes his mark.

The club are keen to appoint an assistant manager to replace James Fowler, who followed Jack Ross to Sunderland, as well as a first-team coach to assist Stubbs at the Paisley club.

However, Stubbs admitted he was unable to give too much away until contracts were sorted with his new management team.

He said: “Bringing in the staff is already an ongoing process.

“I think over the next few days there will be an announcement and I’ll be in a position to name them.

“I am looking to try and go a bit different this time and I won’t be bringing the staff that I had with me previously.

“It is nothing to do with anything – I think I need something fresh and something different.

“Every time you start something different it is a fresh challenge.

“Coming off the back of success you are still striving for something better.

“But coming into this job, with the fact I have had a difficult experience in my last job, I am looking to have the same impact as I had at Hibs.”
