A bail bandit brazenly broke his curfew only FOUR days after a sheriff handed it to him, a court was told.

Barry Purawec, 24, was spotted by the cops walking down the street with a girl in the evening, when he was supposed be indoors at his bail address.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Purawec of Motehill Road, Gallowhill, had been slapped with a home detention curfew on February 13, this year.

But police officers spotted the yob walking past them accompanied by a female at Netherhill Crescent on February 17.

Fiscal depute Kevin Doherty said: “The accused had been released on bail at this court on February 13.

“He accepted the bail and curfew conditions that required him to remain at his bail address between 7pm and 7am the following morning.

“At 7.42pm on February 17, police officers on uniformed mobile patrol travelling on Netherhill Crescent saw the accused walking with a female on a footpath there.

“Both appeared to be walking in the direction of shops at Netherhill Road in Paisley.

“The turned round their vehicle when the male and female began walking in the opposite direction.”

The court heard Purawec then vanished but officers checked out his curfew address and reported him for the breach of bail.

Defence agent Rhona Lynch said her client, who was previously convicted for hurling a missile and bullying young schoolgirls in the street, and for vandalising a car, was admitting the offence.

She said: “He is a 24-year-old man and continues to reside at the address.

“He admits the offence and is expected to appear at court early next week for a deferred sentence on another matter.”

Sentence on Purawec was deferred until Monday where he will appear before Sheriff Colin Pettigrew in relation to the bullying of schoolgirls offence.

The accused admitted assault and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards the youngsters amid claims the girls were bullying his younger brother.

Sheriff David Pender continued matters until June 18 to allow this to happen.
