Caring Caelen makes the cut for good cause

Blond locks chopped to aid children’s charity

A four- year- old boy has had his long blond locks chopped off to make wigs for sick children.

Caelen Connor’s hair was a whopping 26 inches long after he grew it since birth – but on Saturday it all came off during his first ever haircut.

His locks will be passed on to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to children suffering from hair loss.

The kind- hearted youngster also raised over three times his fundraising target and racked up over £700 in sponsorship for the charity SiMBA.

His dad Brian Connor explained that SiMBA, an organisation that offers support to those whose baby has died at any stage of pregnancy or close to birth, is one particularly close to the family.

Brian said the whole family is thrilled that Caelen chose to go for the chop for charity.

He said: “We all know people who have been affected by child loss. SiMBA is a great organisation and they run entirely on donations.

“Caelen knows exactly how important what he is doing is and is really excited to help.

Inspirational Caelen visited Zika Barbers in Paisley on Saturday morning and barber Patrick Kelly gave him his smart new look.

He now can’t wait to show off his sharp new hairdo when he joins Williamsburgh Primary in August.

Delighted dad Brian said: “The haircut went well Caelen didn’t cry or moan about it. He just sat there and smiled, looking at himself in the mirror.

“He loves his new hairdo and he doesn’t seem to miss it.

“We feel so proud of him and we’ve smashed our target so we’re all really happy.”
