School’s out... so let’s get the party started
Youngsters and staff have fun as they get set for the summer
As every parent, pupil and teacher knows – school is out for summer.
Across Renfrewshire yesterday, thousands of pupils and teachers bid farewell to their classrooms for six weeks.
At at Todholm Primary, these youngsters were celebrating finishing school on a hot summer day.
And Williamsburgh Primary staff said goodbye to their pupils in style by putting together a fantastic video to celebrate.
At three-minutes long, the fun video starts by showing the school in the snow and features teaching, cleaning and catering staff miming to some brilliant tunes including I Want to Break Free, The Final Countdown, Na Na Hey Hey, Summer Holiday and Celebrate.
There’s also some dancing with scarves, having a shot on the playground equipment, running along corridors, bhangra dancing and even the kids’ favourite, the floss.
And the headteacher Nova Scott signs off the video by running along a corridor into her office to some cartoon music then says, That’s All Folks.
Since it was posted on the school’s Facebook page yesterday, the video has had a great reaction from parents with more than 2,500 views and lots of comments thanking staff for their hard work and wishing them a good break.
Councillor Will Mylet added: “It’s great to see the teachers and all the staff at Williamsburgh Primary let their hair down for what is becoming a regular end of term video from them. Well done to everyone taking part in the video it highlights a great sense of humour and community that is within this school.
“Both my children are pupils are Williamsburgh and they enjoy attending this popular local school.
“This video highlights the strong community spirit within Williamsburgh Primary, as has also been seen in their recent community litter pick exercise.”
Back in 2015, the staff at the school did a similar video to the tune of Uptown Funk, by Mark Ronson, featuring Bruno Mars.
Renfrewshire schools return on Wednesday, August 15.
