It’s time to go forward ...and enjoy better health
NHS bosses plan ahead
The blueprint of the future delivery health and social care services in Paisley and beyond was yesterday approved by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
The ‘ Moving Forward Together’ strategy sets out how primary, community and acute health and social care services will aim in the future to support people to live longer, healthier lives in their own homes and communities and to promote self-management and independence.
The strategy seeks to maximise the number of people who are supported to live at home in good mental and physical health for as long as possible.
Board chairman John Brown said: “I’m pleased to see in Greater Glasgow and Clyde a whole system approach has been taken to planning and designing services to meet the future demands of our population.
“We’ve worked with the six health and social care partnerships in the area and our local authority partners, the public and our staff to develop a vision which removes any boundaries between services to create a seamless service entirely focused on the needs of the person.
“This strategy looks beyond today’s constraints to tomorrow’s solutions and I look forward to continuing to work with our partners, the HSCPs, local authorities and the third sector, to make this vision a reality.”
Dr Jennifer Armstrong, Medical Director, led the Moving Forward Together Programme.
She said: “Innovation in digital technology provides a real opportunity to transform the way we provide health and social care services, in how individuals manage their own health and their care and in the way we plan and deliver treatment.”
