Health workers to get free cuppas at Asda

-

Asda Linwood is giving away free hot drinks to health workers to mark the 70th anniversary of the creation of the NHS.

The NHS was established on July 5, 1948, and to mark the anniversary, Asda in the Phoenix Retail Park is giving away free hot drinks from its cafe to NHS employees.

Anyone who works for the NHS can claim a free hot drink on Thursday as part of the NHS Big 7Tea celebrations.

All you need to do to claim your free drink is present your NHS ID to a member of the café team.

The NHS Big 7Tea celebrations will see people across the nation raise a cuppa to help raise money for charity and NHS institutions.

Over the last 70 years, the NHS has transformed the health and wellbeing of the nation and become the envy of the world.

Store manager Scott Gregor said: “We are delighted to join in with celebrations as the NHS turns 70.

“The NHS is one of the nation’s most- loved institutions, so we are encouraging all NHS employees to pop in for their free cuppa.”

There will also be information on how the public can join in and host a Big7Tea party event of their own and invite friends, family and colleagues along to mark the occasion and support the vital work of NHS charities.

There are more than 250 NHS charities across the UK. Most of them focus on helping our hospitals do more, whilst others support mental health trusts, community health trusts and ambulance trusts.
