Aldi is hunting for 35 new staff

-

A major supermarket is looking to recruit 35 people across its Renfrewshire stores.

Aldi is looking to fill posts at its Fulbar Road, Neilston Road and Johnstone shops and will hold an information event later this month.

The event will be held at Johnstone Town Hall between 10am and 3.30pm on July 18 and applicants are encouraged to bring a CV along as they will have the chance to speak to the area manager and get a taste of what it’s like to work at Aldi.

The discount chain, which is now the fifth largest supermarket in the UK, is looking to recruit a range of store apprentices and store assistants across the region.

All staff will benefit from rising salaries during their careers at the company, with store assistants earning £ 10.41 per hour, after just three years.

The majority of Aldi workers now receive a minimum rate of £8.85 per hour, regardless of their age, following significant sustained sales growth and store expansion.

Richard Holloway, Aldi regional managing director, said: “Aldi continues to prove very popular amongst the shoppers of Renfrewshire, therefore to meet this demand, we’re looking for fresh talent to become part of the Aldi family.

“We have a number of opportunities for people throughout the local community, and would encourage anyone interested in a career at Aldi to apply via our recruitment website.

“We are looking to attract applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds who can demonstrate relevant experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast- paced environment.”
