Burgeoning tea industry

-

A tea company that sells to more than 34 countries, including one of the largest tea producers in the world, has moved to Hillington Park

Jenier World of Teas, formerly based in based in Bridge of Weir, offers a huge range of high-quality teas.

Since the business was established in 2009, it has expanded significantly.

It now stocks over 250 teas, from fruit and herbal to more traditional flavours.

Founded by Doug and Anita Clark, the business has moved into a space in Earl Haig Road, where the products are packaged and sent out to food service industries across the globe.

The company sells all over the world and sends around 52 tonnes to wholesale customers.

Inspired by tea pioneering Scots such as Robert Fortune, James Taylor, Robert Bruce and the famous Tommy Lipton, Anita wanted to honour the pivotal role Scotland has played in the industry whilst doing a job she loved.

Anita, from Renfrewshire, said: “As I learned more about the amazing influence Scotland has had on the world tea, I became totally enthralled and inspired to start an e-commerce tea business that would provide customers with ethically sourced, high-quality products.

“Since setting up the company, we have grown significantly and we now supply to hotels, restaurants and herbal shops.

“Selling abroad has been an area that has expanded steadily for us throughout the years and has played a huge part in our growth.”

The business now blends its own teas, creating unique ranges including gin and tonic and whisky.

Anita added: “We want to continue to grow and develop by coming up with new ranges that our customers will enjoy. We have orders leaving us every day, so being based somewhere with great transport links was very important to us.

“Hillington Park was ideal with the nearby M8. Our unit is not only fit for purpose but allows us room for future expansion.”
