Surgery for slash victim
A man slashed in the face during a brutal weekend knife attack has had plastic surgery.
The 22-year-old was knifed along with another man, aged 19, by two thugs in Bargarran Square in Erskine on Saturday.
Both victims were rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley.
The older man was transferred to Canniesburn Plastic Surgery unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
It is understood he had surgery on a deep facial wound at the specialist clinic yesterday.
Detectives launched a manhunt following the brutal attack, which happened around 10.50pm.
The victims were slashed by two men during a major disturbance in the street.
Cops are carrying out an extensive CCTV trawl of the area as they try to identify suspects and are carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
Detective Inspector Ross MacDonald, from Paisley CID, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to this serious doubele assault.
“The victims both sustained lacerations to the face during the attack and we are still working to establish a motive for the incident.
“We would appeal to anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident to get in touch with us.
“If you witnessed the attack then we would also like to hear from you as you may have vital information in identifying who was responsible.”
