Ex-Saint is going nowhere

-

Hibs boss Neil Lennon has revealed that the club have knocked back a second offer for former St Mirren midfielder John McGinn.

McGinn, brother of Saints players Stephen and Paul, has been subject to speculation over his future – with Celtic having lodged two bids for his services.

Saints would be set to land a 33 per cent windfall from any potential sale under the terms of the deal that saw him move to Easter Road on a free transfer back in 2015.

Hibs are believed to be holding out for an offer in the region of £3million for the Scotland international but Lennon insists that Celtic have yet to reach anything in that ballpark.

He said:“We have rejected two bids from Celtic.

“Our club has a valuation of the player.

“I don’t know what that is but obviously Celtic have not met the valuation that Hibs want.

“We’ve had two bids in which have not been accepted by the club.

“There’s been talks between the clubs and I think Celtic are aware of what we value John at and they haven’t met that.”
