Roll with it and enjoy Robert and Supersonic

-

So here is a shameless plug for a friend of mine Robert Downie, he plays guitar for Supersonic, who are playing at the Bungalow tomorrow night.

Then again, it’s easy to plug a band that is always on the money. I first met Robert when his daughter sang at a Loud n Proud show in the Armadillo and him and I got chatting.

He was telling me he was a musician but at the time had no band.

A few years later, and after a lot of hard work, Supersonic appeared. The band is an Oasis tribute made up of Oasis fans who love the music of the Manchester legends.

Their passion for all things Oasis shines through in their performances.

The East Kilbride lads are bringing their show to The Bungalow because Boab Williamson of The Bungalow heard them at their sold-out East Kilbride Arts Centre gig, and after seeing a great set he was keen to get them on board.

Supersonic are quickly becoming the must-see Oasis tribute as this group captures the attitude and stage presence of the original band.

The songs are sung with passion and fire and they throw in a cheeky wee acoustic set.

You will not be disappointed in these guys and, let’s be honest, we all love a bit of Oasis. It starts at 7pm and tickets are £8.

Tonight The Rubanesques are playing for the first time in The Bungalow from 7pm. The band features the multi-talented Tom Urie and in support is Static.

This evening at the Cave is 117 tomorrow night it’s Drty Luv in the early slot at 6pm followed by Auld Skool at 9pm.

On Sunday from 6pm The Jim Keilt State Bar Blues Band will be performing some great guitar-driven tunes from some of the greatest bands ever.

The Old Swan have Kong in tonight from 8pm and tomorrow in the shoppers slot it’s Nightfly. Casual Swans are back for the Monday club at 3pm. On Wednesday Heavy Load are playing an acoustic set at 6pm.

Skunnered are at the The Tea Gardens on Sunday from 6pm and The Anchor have Zoe in on Sunday from 4pm.

Zoe is famous locally for being that talented singer who regularly busks outside Burtons.

Open Mic Nights next week are tonight with Stevie Johnstone at Hamishe’s Hoose from 8pm, and Sunday at The Bungalow with Cat Caldwell from 8pm. On Monday from 8pm at The Abbey Bar the session is hosted by Dunky Hunter, Andy Lindsay is at The Anchor on Tuesday from 8pm, and on Wednesday Johnny Barr is the host for Burger and Keg 8pm. Also on Wednesday, Andy Lindsay is at The Patter Bar from 8pm.

On Thursday it is Manhattan’s – also at 8pm.

Support your local venues and keep music live.
