Hagg Bar A finished off the First Division in style with the type of performance they have displayed all year as they strolled to a 7-2 win over Court Bar.

The top tier’s champions have been the form team all year and have gone through the season undefeated.

Pickwicks continue to impress, though, and they too ended the season on a high as they travelled to Pockets Red to collect both points in a 6-3 victory.

St Peter’s finished the season in third place with a whitewash victory over Arthurlie Inns, who couldn’t pull together a side for their last home game.

With Court Bar losing 7-2, it was left to Flying Horse A to do as much as they could in their fight for fourth place. But a spirited effort from home team Keystone A meant they could only triumph 5-4, which sees them finish fifth on leg difference.

At the bottom of the table there were four teams taking part in games where defeat could’ve signalled relegation.

Railway Inn travelled to Burgh Bar knowing a win could keep them clear of the battles around them.

They got the resul they needed to stay clear as they triumphed 5-4 to remain in ninth place.

That meant that the real relegation battle was taking place at Gleniffer Hotel, where the winner between the hosts and Hagg Bar C was assured of another season in the top flight.

Ultimately, it was the home side that prevailed as they took both points from their rivals with a 5-4 win, with the result consiging the Hagg side to the drop.

Meanwhile, there was still plenty to play for in Division Two as Cafuffals, The Kelburn and Pockets Black jostled for the two available promotion places.

The last game of the season saw current leaders Cafuffals face a hefty home challenge, beating Pockets Black to claim the title.

Cafuffals wasted no time in hitting the front as they rattled up five games in succession to win the match and the title in the singles matches.

They didn’t stop there, though, and continued their dominance in the doubles as the match ended 7-2 to the new champions.

Meanwhile, The Kelburn had the easiest of routes to secure second place as their opponents from Hazel Pirates couldn’t put a team together.

The results ensured promotion for the winning teams and a third spot in the table for Pockets Black.

Court Bar B were also handed a walkover win as Hazel Pirates B also couldn’t raise a side, so Court finish fourth on leg difference.

Tartan Rose end the campaign in fifth after they were sunk by a 6-3 defeat at Kelburne Cricket Club.

The Hazel Arms finish the season in fine form by climbing the table into eight after sealing the points in a 6- 3 win over Inkerman Bowling Club.

The last game of the division saw Keystone B come away with both points from Barrhead outfit Flying Horse B after a closelyfought 5-4 win.

There were nine maximums recorded this week, with Hagg Bar A’s Evander Stevenson and Pickwicks’ Robert Morrison both scoring two.

Both players also recorded legs of 16 and 18 darts in thier games, however the fastest game of the week and matching the season’s best came from Burgh Bar’s Paul Handvidge with an 11-dart leg.

The highest finish of the week came from the Pickwicks team too, as Chris Maguire checked out at a very impressive 138.

Next week marks the last games of the year as each club sends two representatives to the Champion Of Champion play-offs at Pockets.
