Desperate plea from stroke victim Liz
Liz used to enjoy sitting out on her decking but no longer feels she is able to relax.
She said: “I have a table and chairs on my decking to sit out but it’s not nice because of what it looks like and the flies during the heat. It’s not on.
“I worry about rats. If I saw a rat, I would take another stroke.
“It’s an eyesore. It’s causing me stress, which I don’t need right now while I’m recovering.”
Renfrewshire Council has said it is working with all site owners involved to ensure the situation is resolved.
A spokeswoman said: “We are aware that there has been fly- tipping left in the area and are working with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) as the lead regulator to resolve this matte
“The fly- tipping does not contain any harmful materials and does not pose a health risk.
“We have issued enforcement notices to the site owner operating in the area to remove waste and leave the site in a cleared, clean and tidy condition.
“We will continue to work with SEPA and the site owner on this matter.”
Meanwhile, SEPA has assured it has responded to complaints of dumping at the site.
A spokeswoman said: “Every day, SEPA works to protect and enhance Scotland’s environment and compliance with environmental rules is nonnegotiable.
“We take reports of potential pollution and illegal dumping seriously, operating a 24 hour pollution hotline for members of the public.
“SEPA Officers, working with Renfrewshire Council, are responding to the complaints of waste activity at a site in the west end of Paisley and will attend to assess the situation and identify local impacts.”
