Pervert who tried to lure girls into car dodges prison

One teen was on her way to school

A creep who tried to lure girls into his car dodged a jail stretch yesterday.

Paul McFadyen, 55, has been spared jail for coaxing the teens to get into his motor due to ill health.

He pulled up next to them as they walked alone and begged them to leave with him.

But the weirdo escaped with a fine after he claimed at Paisley Sheriff Court that he could not handle being locked up.

Sheriff David Pender heard he had been deemed unfit for prison and unpaid work.

He said: “The court has limited options.

“For the benefit of your mental health, I do not think a custodial sentence is appropriate.

“You will be subject to the notifications of the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.”

McFadyen tried to convince a girl, 14, to get into his silver grey Nissan Juke while she was walking down Paisley’s Barrhead Road.

He asked her name and repeatedly pleaded for her home address during the ordeal in March 2016.

The weirdo pulled up next to another teenager in nearby Causeyside Street weeks later.

But she told him to “f**k off” and branded him a “pervy b*****d”.

Prosecutor Claire Nicholls previously told how the younger teen was making her way to school when McFadyen pounced.

She said: “There were attempts to entice both females into the vehicle, which resulted in one female getting into it.

“This was a 14-year-old female who was unaccompanied and who was making her way to school.

“In the other instance, the female was walking down the street when she became aware of him.

“She feared he was going to grab her and get her into his car. There are significant sexual aspects involving both charges, therefore he should be placed on the register.”

McFadyen – who hobbled into previous court appearances on crutches – was cleared of sexually assaulting the 14-year-old, following a trial, by putting his hands on her body.

He failed to turn up for his sentencing and a warrant was issued for his arrest in April.

Defence lawyer Peter Galletly insisted his client’s health had deteriorated.

The court heard McFadyen had suffered a heart attack.

He also has problems speaking after his throat was ravaged by ill health.

The pervert must update police if he moves home and inform officers of his bank cards and credit cards, so his online activities can be monitored.

McFadyen, of Lylesland Court, was fined £1,000.
