Against The Current have announced a UK tour fresh of the back of releasing new material for the first time in more than two years.

Now they are heading back to the UK to perform at The Garage in Glasgow this September – and fans can expect to hear their two latest hits Almost Forgot and Strangers Again live for the first time.

The two tracks are followers‘first taste of Against The Current’s hugely anticipate­d follow-up to 2016’s acclaimed debut album, In Our Bones.

The Glasgow gig is one of a flurry of shows this September culminatin­g with a gig at London’s O2 Forum on September 29.

Elsewhere, Indie legends James will be headlining on the Thursday night, while 90s electronic group Leftfield are closing the event on the Saturday.

Paisley rising stars The Vegan Leather are also set to storm the stage, alongside other top acts such as Young Fathers, Idlewild, Teenage Fanclub and The Coral.

Nick Roberts, festival co-founder, said: “We’re full steam ahead for the fifth edition of our wee party, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve got in store.

“We’ve made big changes to the site to make it an even better experience, with a huge new family campsite, a new main stage position and a whole new dance area in the woods. It’s going to be great.” And it’s not just about the tunes. Electric Fields offers a whole host of entertainm­ent to happy campers, from comedy to cabaret.

Young Buddies can get involved too at the Our Kids Electric event, with entertainm­ent, workshops and the legendary adventure playground.

If that’s not enough, this year there will be yoga on offer on Friday and Saturday mornings – the perfect cure for heavy heads and achy dancing feet the morning after the night before.
