Legal eagle hounded ex with vile texts

Creep whispered through her letterbox

- Chris Taylor

A trainee para l e g a l bombarded his ex-girlfriend with sinister texts then whispered threats through her letterbox.

Shaun Clark, 30, hounded Jennifer Terris after they split and ranted: “My life is now to kill you.”

He has been banned from her Paisley street in a bid to keep her safe.

Clark’s career is in tatters after he admitted at Paisley Sheriff Court targeting his victim.

Prosecutor Frank Clarke told how he turned nasty when they split after eight months.

He said: “The relationship was quickly coming to an end.

“There were WhatsApp messages going backwards and forwards between both parties.

“Clark was seeking to have a conversation of some description

with Ms Terris.

“However, when matters went awry, he resorted to name calling and abusive comments to both her and a friend.

“He used the expressions ‘fat slut’, ‘fat, slutty diseased piece of s**t’ and ‘whore’.

“He made threats and stated: ‘my life is now to kill you. You are f*****g done, you flat slut.’

“Obviously, this caused concern to Ms Terris, to the point where she and her friend returned to the flat.

“They locked the door behind them, only to discover the accused in Lawn Street, outside the flat.

“They heard him enter the common close and make his way to the door and whisper threats through the letterbox.”

The pair had shared a flat together in Paisley town centre.

But he turned on her when they broke-up.

He repeatedly sent threatening messages and made abusive calls in a car on the way to the home in Lawn Street, on May 30.

The court heard Clark had “no problem” with the break-up.

He claimed he lashed out when his former partner refused to hand over a television and £500 earmarked for a holiday.

Defence lawyer Jonathan Manson insisted his client’s life was in tatters due to his behaviour.

He said: “This has had dire consequences for Mr Clark.

“He was doing training as a specialised paralegal.

“The likelihood of him obtaining a job as a paralegal or a legal career is at an end.”

The court was asked to consider a non-harassment order barring Clark from contacting his victim.

Sh e r i f f S e i t h I re l a n d deferred sentence but warned him to keep away or be hauled back into the dock. He said: “It seems to me Ms Kerr and Ms Terris require a level of protection.

As a first offender, I am going to defer sentence for a period for you to show the court you can put this behind you and not be involved in any future offending.”

Clark, of Glasgow, has been ordered to return to court in December. conservation charities.

This is a great opportunity for groups to access funding to make a difference in the local community.

Laura Chow, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “Charities and good causes are at the heart of what we do at People’s Postcode Lottery, and we’ve seen funding from these trusts makes a huge difference to communities.

“I’m very excited to see the applications come in this year from throughout Great Britain.

“Across the three trusts, a huge variety of projects can benefit and I’d urge groups to take a look at the websites, see where their project fits and get applying.”

A minimum of 32 percent from every People’s Postcode Lottery ticket goes directly to good causes, bosses say.

To date, players have raised more than £320 million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
