Help wanted for RAH Mass

-

A call has gone out Paisley’s Roman Catholics to help out at Mass at the town’s Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Monsignor John Tormey, Roman Catholic chaplain to the hospital, is looking for Eucharistic Ministers and Readers who would be willing to help out at Mass at 4pm on Saturday afternoons.

“This would be a great help for those patients and staff in RAH who attend the hospital Mass,” the diocese website says.

“You would be asked to serve on a rota basis.”

If you are able to help, give your name and contact details to your parish priest or contact Monsignor Tormey at St Aidan’s, Johnstone, on 01505 320900.

Meanwhile, Diocese of Paisley Liturgy Commission is to support parishes in providing good liturgy in which the faithful can encounter Christ.

It is looking to achieve this by catechesis of the laity in the liturgy and ongoing formation of the clergy, supporting people in their various ministries and sharing good practice, fostering a high standard of music, and encouraging musicians, and supporting parishes in providing good quality liturgy.

The commission says its goals can be reached by hosting workshops, providing online resources and engaging with talented people in schools and parishes.

The aim is also to develop the devotional life of the local church through the rediscovery of Benediction, Marian devotions and Forty Hours of continuous prayer and the musical patrimony of the Church.
