Post Office to launch new service

A newly modernised Post Office ‘ local’ service with extended hours will open at Houston Post Office.

The service, which will launch at 1pm on Friday August 10, will provide a low- screened, open plan style Post Office service point integrated into the retail counter.

Bosses say customers will be able to access a range of Post Office and mail services, including special delivery, local collect and home shopping returns that is hoped will provide more convenience.

Banking services including cash withdrawals, deposits and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks will be available too.

The Post Office service will be available during the store’s opening hours from 8am until 7:30pm Monday until Saturday.

To allow the work to be carried out, the branch will close temporarily for refurbishment from 5.30pm on Wednesday, August 1.

During this short time customers can use Clippens Road Post Office, 57 Clippens Road, Linwood, and Bridge of Weir Post Office, 63 Main Street, Bridge of Weir.

Angela Smith, Post Office Area Network Change Manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”
