Aspiring writers ready to impress

get yourself down to Paisley town Hall today to enjoy special perfomance­s at the Write Here Write now Festival Fun Day.

PaCE theatre and CrEatE Paisley have come together to create the mega-festival celebratin­g all young bookworms and wannabe writers.

Everyone is invited to the fun-filled fest marking scotland’s Year of Young People. the activity-packed day will see performanc­es from creative youngsters aged 12 to 21.

In the run-up to the festival, talented kids were invited to submit ideas, extracts or examples of their written work.

they then improved their submission­s through a series of worskshops with mentors including InMotion theatre Company, acclaimed singer/songwriter Michael Cassidy, Marie Collins of Paisley art-pop band the Vegan Leather and PaCE artistic director Jenni Mason.

Visitscotl­and’s director of events Paul Bush, is backing the event.

He said:“Write Here Write now offers a fantastic opportunit­y for young aspiring creatives to not only develop their writing skills with the help of experience­d profession­als but also to have their voice heard on a public stage.”

If you would like to support the creative youngsters, head along to Paisley town Hall at 12pm.

the event is on until 3pm and will include taster workshops, activities and stalls alongside the performanc­es. the best part about this free literary fest? there is no need to book ahead.
