New signings at Neilston

Farmer’s Boys are recruiting

- Craig Ritchie

Neilston Juniors have snapped up a host of new signatures as they prepare for the Championship.

Former Johnstone Burgh midfielder Cameron Haddow, and the returning Lewis Lovering are welcome additions to Martin Campbell and John Paul Dow’s ranks.

Haddow joins from Yoker Athletic having previously started last season at Keanie Park with Burgh. He had previously been a youth player at both Aberdeen and Stenhousemuir, as well as having a stint at Clydebank.

Meanwhile, Lovering has resigned for another season having enjoyed a spell at Stranraer.

And his return is a welcome one for boss Campbell. He told Express Sport: “Lewis has perhaps been a bit unfortunate at Stranraer after they done away with their youth programme at the end of last season.

“They aren’t funding a reserve team so that left Lewis in limbo a little bit. Originally we thought we would get him back on loan from Stranraer but instead he has signed permanently for us. But Stranraer will still be keeping an eye on him and he will play bounce games whenever they set them up.

“It is an unfortunate situation for Lewis but in a roundabout way it is Neilston’s gain.”

Also signing after the pre season friendlies are defender/midfielder Scott Smith and goalkeeper Marc Wilson after both players left Yoker.
