Store helps to spread some animal magic
Furry friends go down a treat with youngsters
Youngsters enjoyed a cuddle with some furry friends at a special event at Pets at Home.
Customers at the Linwood store helped raise over £1,600, which was split between Royalheart Greyhound Rescue in Langbank and the store’s own charity, Support Adoption for Pets.
And kids who were at the store when the cheque was handed over were able to have their picture taken with the animals in store or their own pets.
Lesley Roberts, from the fundraising team at Royalheart Greyhound Rescue, said: “We were delighted when the store added the rescue as a partner last year.
“Since then, we have spent a lot of time there raising awareness, helping at family fun days and pet workshops.
“It’s a great partnership and long may it continue. We want to thank the store and its customers for continuing to donate to the rescue and the upkeep of the rescued dogs.
“The rescue could not survive without community support and we have plenty of it.”
To raise funds, customers purchased £ 1 scratch cards in Pets At Home stores to be in with the chance of winning more than175,000 prizes, including five Samsung 50inch 4k HD TVs, Amazon Echo Dots, National Trust memberships and Love2Shop vouchers and made donations directly in store.
Support Adoption For Pets is a charity established by Pets at Home in 2006. Since then, it has helped over 1,000 rehoming centres and animal welfare organisations across the UK.
In addition to its fundraising work, it also runs dedicated adoption centres in more than 440 Pets at Home stores.
