A teacher was seen lying naked on top of a sixth-year pupil after a trip to a safari park, a hearing was told.

Elizabeth Smillie, 37, allegedly climbed into bed with the schoolgirl and let her booze in her flat.

She denies claims she romped with the 17-year-old.

The General Teaching Council for

Scotland (GTCS) have hauled her in front of a disciplinary panel and could bar her from working in the classroom.

A pal of the pupil told the hearing she had “no doubt” she walked in on the teen – referred to only as ‘Pupil C’ – being laid on by the former music Miss.

She said: “I think it was June, or summer holidays.

“I think it was after the Blair Drummond trip. “I walked into the room. “I was looking for Pupil C. “I opened the door and Elizabeth Smillie was naked on top of her. “It was incredibly awkward. “I could only see the teacher.” Smillie taught music at a Paisley high school.

She is accused of seducing the girl and “repeatedly engaged in sexual activity” over the 2011-12 school year.

The teacher is alleged to have sent the teen her mobile number and added her on Facebook.

It is claimed she then sent a slew of explicit messages.

The panel heard she invited the girl and her pals to booze in her home outside after school.

The witness insisted she saw the pair together regularly.

She added: “She turned up at a party in her car. They were holding hands in the car. I was in the back in the middle.

“Pupil C was in the front, holding hands.”

The panel also heard Smillie and the girl held hands and kissed during an outing to Blair Drummond Safari Park near Stirling.

Renfrewshire Council took “immediate action” after the allegations surfaced and she left her teaching post.

Smillie describes herself as a professional musician online.

She has also set herself up as a humanist celebrant leading funerals for bereaved families.

Smillie faces a total of four allegations of improper conduct towards pupils and could be struck off the teaching register.

She is accused of using Facebook and texts to conduct inappropriate relationships with two other schoolgirls.

The teacher was not present during the two-day hearing in Edinburgh.

She is also accused of taking part in “inappropriate conversations” of a “personal and sexual nature” with a girl of 15.

Smillie is alleged to have failed to inform bosses the teen had turned up to classes under the influence.

It is claimed she met the girl outside school and kissed the pupil, who had been drinking.

The GTCS alleges that Smillie’s fitness to teach is impaired and that she is unfit to teach.

A Renfrewshire Council confirmed she no longer works with the local authority.

A spokesman said: “We took immediate action as soon as we became aware of incidents taking place.”
