To toddle

- Three-year-old Arrianna Scott

Ivy McDonald, aged four that we’re following legislation,” said Gemma. “We’ve also done a lot of peer support with the breastfeeding network so we’ve got good listening skills.”

There are a core of about nine children and their parents who go along and another four who pop in and out. There were older kids along during the summer holidays but the group is for parents and their preschool children.

The group meets every Tuesday morning from 9.30am till 10am for registration and a light breakfast at the Linstone Community Hub at Belmar Court then they head outside to explore till noon.

It is free to attend and Marion and Gemma fund any costs themselves. They’re in the process of talking to Engage Renfrewshire about developing the group and applying for funding.

Gemma said: “We wanted to see how it would go before doing anything more. We’d like to hire a bus and maybe go further afield. We could go up the Braes or into Glenburn.”

To celebrate the end of the summer holidays, the group held an outdoor party with a beach theme at the football pitches across from Belmar Court.

Anyone interested in going along to the group can go to Belmar Court from 9.30am till 10am every Tuesday morning. If you’re running late, send the group a message on Facebook and Gemma and Marion can tell you where they are.
