A fundraising page has been set up to help cover the funeral costs of Kevin Bishop who was found dead at a Paisley flat.

The 32-year-old’s remains were discovered by police at property in Schaw Road on Monday, more than two weeks after his worried family had reported him missing.

Now friends and family of the dad-of-two are rallying to make sure his family can lay him to rest with an online appeal which aims to raise £3,000 towards his funeral.

The funding page organised by Julie Bishop wrote: “Our Kevin. As you all now know our Kevin has been cruelly way taken from us.

“Kevin a father himself to Caleb and Gillian, a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and will be so desperately missed by everyone.

“He had some great friends for which we are forever grateful, the support already has been overwhelming, our emotions are taken over us we are now hoping all our family and friends will do what we always do – stick together.

“I’m setting this page to try and take some pressure from Kevin’s parents and family with help for Kevin’s funeral.”

So far the fund has already raised £800 towards the target, with many people leaving heartfelt messages on the page.

One wrote: “Literally no words will help with the loss of your Kevin. “May he rest in peace.” Another added: “A small token to help Kevin make his final journey.

“Our paths crossed many years ago, but I have never forgotten him.

“He was a bright spark, who never failed to make me laugh. Sleep easy, Kevin.”

Kevin had been reported missing by his family on August 4 sparking a major search by the police.

Tragically his remains were discovered at a Gallowhill flat earlier this week.

A 46- year- old man has appeared in court in connection with Kevin’s death.
