cancer that had spread to her bones.

She said: “No one else in my family has ever had cancer so the diagnosis came as a horrific shock.”

After two years of treatment, Marion say that the chance to take part in the catwalk show is a dream come true.

She told the Express: “When I was a teenager I wanted to be a model - finally I get my chance. “I feel so lucky and so blessed to be here. “Twenty years ago I would have been dead but thanks to all the research and breakthrough my cancer is treatable and I am still alive.”

Jackie was first diagnosed with breast cancer one month after her 36th birthday.

The mum-of-two was left devastated by the test results but battled to keep things as normal as possible for her two daughters, then aged just five and eight.

After being successfully treated by surgergy, chemotherarpy and radiotherapy, five years later in 2015 Jackie received another brutal shock – the cancer was back.

“One of my strongest feelings was of guilt – having to put my family through this all again,” Jackie explained. “I was told the cancer was not related, just bad luck.”

Jackie had to endure another round of surgeries, chemo and radiotherapy but celebrated ending treatment in February 2016.

She said: “I started giving myself at least one challenge per year, and the biggest was running the London marathon in 2014 raising over £2,500 for Breast Cancer Care.

“I always try and look at the positives. My cancer experience has given me strength, courage and resilience I didn’t know I had.”

The fashion show takes place at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel on Thursday, October 25.

Funds raised at the show will help Breast Cancer Care continue to provide care and information. For tickets, call 0345 077 1892 or email theshowscotland@breastcancercare. org.uk
