Fun seminar welcomes new Trinity students
These pupils made a winning start to their secondary school lives after taking part in a fun seminar.
Trinity High School in Renfrew held a session to welcome all their new S1 pupils to the school.
They invited along police officers to talk about internet safety and senior pupils who are part of the Hearty Lives project to talk about healthy eating and lifestyle.
The 150 pupils – one of the highest intakes in the last few years – were split into their school houses to take part in fun games and activities throughout the session.
And the eventual winners were St Nicholas.
Depute head Joyce Walker said: “This was a session to introduce our first years to life at the school.
“We spoke to them about taking responsibility for their safety online and eating healthily.
“They all seemed to really enjoy the session taking part in the activities and quizzes. They’ve settled in really well to the school.”
Senior pupils were also celebrating their exam results. The school had a record-breaking result with more than 30 S4 pupils achieving seven National 5 certificates.
And of those, five students achieved a fantastic seven A grades.
The pupils – Lujane Suleyman, Dylan Tait, Maria Church, Craig Donaldson and MacKenzie Jennings – were congratulated by everyone at the school.
Ms Walker said: “We are all very proud of our pupils. They are very hard working . The pupils are now continuing their hard work this year by concentrating on their Highers.”
