Carris,11, is ‘lucky to be alive’after brick terror
scream when a brick was fired through her living room window in broad daylight.
She told the Express: “It was a terrible fright.
“At first I didn’t register what had happened.
“I came in the room and saw all the glass shattered on the floor but it was only when we saw the brick we realised what they had done.
“What frightens me most is what could have happened.
“My granddaughter could have been killed. “She is lucky to be alive. “I just don’t know how people sleep in their beds at night not knowing whether or not what they did killed someone.”
The recently retired mum-ofthree said the incident has left her feeling frightened to be in her own home.
She said: “I would never harm someone so I never expected anything like this to happen.
“It has made me feel worried. I’ve never been afraid to be in the house on my own and I don’t want to become one of those women who is scared to be alone.”
Little Carris said she was also left shaken by the unprovoked attack.
She said: “It was a really loud crash but at first I thought maybe a bird had crashed into the window.
“I was shocked when I saw the boy run away.
“I knew sometimes bad incidents happened in Linwood but I never thought it would happen at my gran’s house.”
Police have now appealed for information to help track down the hooded menace who targeted Anne’s home in Kintyre Avenue, Linwood.
Inspector Cassie Glass said: “We are treating this as culpable and reckless behaviour, as occupants of the house could easily have been injured during the incident.
“A youth was spotted making off from the scene and we are keen for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.”
