Still chasing elusive win

- Renfrew..........3 Petershill........4

P e t e r s h i l l ’s Ja m i e MacLennan ran riot to leave Renfrew still searching for their first league win of the season.

The pressure is piling on the New Western Park side, who have just one point from their opening six games of the campaign.

’Frew quickly fell behind as MacLennan fired beyond keeper Dale Burgess inside the opening minute to fire fellow strugglers ’Hill ahead.

The striker then doubled his tally for the afternoon to make it 2-0 after just eight minutes – with the writing already appearing on the wall for the hosts.

Summer signing Rikki McIntosh reduced the deficit in 25 minutes to give Renfrew hope at half-time.

The hosts come out looking to take the game to their visitors early on and they got their reward through Kieron Maxwell in 52 minutes.

McIntosh then fired Renfrew in front to complete an unlikely comeback – but the tie didn’t end there for the hosts, as a late collapse all but summed up their season so far.

They could only hold the lead for five minutes before MacLennan levelled things back up from the penalty spot with 15 minutes remaining.

And the heartbreak was sealed three minutes later as MacLennan struck the winner – and his fourth of the afternoon – to take the three points back to Glasgow.

Renfrew: Bur g e s s, Henry, O’Keefe, Healy, Miller, Chisholm, Maxwell, Borris, McKenna, Benton, McIntosh.
