-

A woman has appeared in court amid accusations she was dealing drugs.

Kelly Ann Ker r, 39, denied the charges when she appeared at a pre-trial hearing at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Ms Kerr faces prosecution for allegedly dealing heroin, cannabis and Subutex pills at St Ninian’s Parish Church, Blackstoun Road, Paisley.

Defence agent James Arrol told the court: “The accused is pleading not guilty to the charges on the indictment.

“But matters required for trial are in fairly short compass and involve three or four witnesses.

“I am waiting on a defence expert to speak to the value of the alleged drugs.”

He added the defence had agreed many items with the Crown and was otherwise prepared.

Fiscal depute Pamela Brady said she expects the trial to be completed within one day.

She added: “The matter is in fairly short compass. Forensic evidence and the contents of the forensic report have been agreed and I expect the trial to be completed within one day.”

Court papers reveal Ms Kerr faces allegations that she was concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, namely diamorphine, a class A drug to another or others including Kieran Kerr, then a prisoner in the custody of G4S security on March 12, this year.

She is also charged with supplying cannabis, a class B substance, and buprenorphine tablets, a class C substance to the same person, at St Ninian’s Parish Church, Paisley.

The accused who maintained her plea of not guilty when she appeared at court was remanded in custody.

Sheriff David Pender said he would continue matters until October 1 when the case would be called and evidence led.
