Silverware is now in sight Keystone A, Flying Horse, Court Bar and Hagg Bar A into last four

Jim Lochrie for St Peter’s then won the next leg before a trio of wins for Flying Horse, through John Peacock, Jamie Harvey and David Barr, left the score at 4-2 to the Barrhead outfit.

In the doubles it was St Peter’s that came out flying as they rattled up the first two doubles games to even the score and take the match to a last-game decider.

However, their luck didn’t last into the final match as Harvey and Peacock took the tie for the Horse with a 2-0 win to set up their semi-final match against Keystone A.

Looking to make it through to the second semi-final were Court Bar and Cafuffals as they faced each other in St Peter’s. After a very tough match it was the Court Bar team that triumphed and made it through to the last four after a 5-2 win over their local rivals.

And in the Tartan Rose, Railway Black Cats took on the current League Cup holders Hagg Bar A, who showed their class from the start as they rattled off five legs in quick succession to go through with a whitewash 5-0 scoreline.

The Hagg team will now face Court Bar in the second of the semi-final games.

There were two maximums recorded on Monday as Mick Malone of Hagg Bar A and Alan Ferguson Jnr of Cafuffals both hit 180s, with Malone also hitting a 15-dart leg as did his captain Evander Stevenson.

Malone also had the highest finish of the evening as he finished one of his games with a 136 checkout.

Next week sees the conclusion of the League Cup competiton with the last four teams going head-to-head at St Peter’s.
