McKim has more options for Annbank

-

Jamie McKim admits he has a selection headache ahead of today’s trip to Annbank.

However, the Johnstone Burgh gaffer insists it is a good headache to have as he prepares to welcome back a number of top team stars.

Chris Burns and Scott Robson look set to return to the fold, while new signings Ross Gemmell and Chris Agnew are also available for selection.

And with McKim keen to build upon last weekend’s victory over Muirkirk, the Keanie Park chief is excited to see his men back in action.

McKim told Express Sport: “The squad is shaping up really well this weekend. We have been able to welcome a number of players back into the fold in recent weeks after what was admittedly a tough time with injuries.

“Chris Burns is a big player for us, as is Scott Robson since we signed him. So, to have they two back is a big deal.

“We will be without Kerr Christie but he will back in the next week or so, while Kieron Magennis is our only real doubt for the game.

“I have been complaining about injuries for weeks it feels, so to be in this position now after a solid start to the season is promising.

“We are always striving for better so to have a full compliment of players available only really helps matters.

“It is a good headache to have now and it can only serve us well for the coming games.”

Burgh have gotten off to a solid start in League Two having only fallen to one defeat so far.

However, he concedes he is taking a step into the unknown today as he doesn’t really know too much about their opponents.

He added: “We are going in a bit blind in all honesty but I always believe my boys have what it takes. We are both really young sides and I would say they are probably just as ambitious as we are.

“A couple of times this season we have simply been fitter than the opposition and capitalised in the closing stages.

“But I don’t think that’ll be the case against Annbank.”

Meanwhile, Neilston welcome St Roch’s to the Brig O’Lea for their Championship clash.

Martin Campbell’s side are bidding to bounce back from last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Darvel.
