Kelburne hockey stars were on the medal trail as they impressed for Team West at the weekend’s Inter District Championships.

Players from across Scotland descended on Edinburgh’s Peffermill as the West’s Under-18 side came away boasting an unbeaten record, while the Under-16 side took the silver medal on the day.

The Paisley side’s Logan McClure, Finlay Halliday and Niall Taylor were in action for the all-conquering 18s as they produced an outstanding performance by recording wins over Midland, East and North.

Halliday was on target in the 4-2 win against Midland after the side had previously recorded a 2-1 over their East counterparts.

And they wrapped up the title with a 8- 0 walk in the park win over Highlands to ensure the silverware headed back to the West.

Meanwhile, Kelburne kids Rowan McClure and Fergus Noble were both also in action for the Under-16 side as they bagged second place.

A Kelburne spokesman said: “There were great results for Team West at this weekend’s competitions.
