Players from Keystone A, Flying Horse A, Court Bar and Hagg Bar A gathered in St Peter’s to see who would get their hands on the first piece of silverare up for grabs in the Paisley and District Darts League.

The first semi- final pitted Keystone against Barrhead’s Flying Horse, with the latter getting off to a flyer as captain Alan Scott gave them a 3-2 lead.

Flying Horse quickly took control of the match and rattled off the next three games as John Peacock, David Barr and Jamie Harvey all won their singles games to put them 4-1 up and within reach of the final.

Chic Walls of Keystone had other ideas though and he gave his team a lifeline with a fine 3-0 win.

The game then entered the doubles stage and it was Keystone that kept the momentum going as they took the first game.

With the score now at 4-3 to Flying Horse, the nerves were starting to jangle on the oche. But the Flying Horse pairing of Shaun Arthur and David Richardson held their nerve to book their side’s spot in the final.

The second semi- final saw Court Bar and Hagg Bar A faceoff against one another.

Court Bar won the first game 3- 1, only for Hagg Bar’s Mick Malone to take the next game but only after it went down to the fifth leg.

Richie Baillie’s game followed the same pattern but he came out best to give the Hagg team an early 2-1 lead.

Andy Boulton was next on the board for Hagg Bar and he soon dispatched his opponent with a 3-0 win as did Hagg Bar captain Evander Stevenson and George Dempsey to give their team a 5-1 victory and an appearance in the final against Flying Horse A.

In the final Hagg Bar’s first player was Boulton and he continued his fine form as he reeled off another 3-0 win to start the match off.

Malone, of Hagg Bar, then added to this as he held on to win his game 3-2.

With the score now at 2- 0 to Hagg Bar it was captain Stevenson who stepped up to give his team a 3-0 lead with a flawless victory, this was then added to by Baillie with another 3-0 win and then Dougie Low finished the game off with his own 3- 0 win to give the Hagg team the title with a convincing 5-0 triumph.
