What a way to cap off the week

-

The Spree has brought an amazing amount of fantastic bands to Paisley this week and there has been something for everyone – from rock legends to jazz and electro.

Aside from the headliners at the speigeltent, there have been some great acts at the Danny Kyle stage at The Old Swan. Celtic Music Radio are behind the event that ends tomorrow at 2pm so catch it while you can.

Tomorrow is the final day of The Spree and to finish off in style is ModStuff, a full day of bands, scooters and stylish clothes.

Gary Kerr, who organises ModStuff, said: “The evening session has been sold out for weeks but the daytime event is free. It is a real fun day with many scooter clubs coming from all over Scotland to be part of the festival.

“It is a wonderful finale to a great week.”

From 8pm tonight and tomorrow, Voodoo Ray and Black Triangles will be on at The Bungalow.

Voodoo Ray are a rock cover band, playing a set that consists of The Killers, Kasabian, Oasis, the Arctic Monkeys, as well as old favourites from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who. Black Triangles play mostly covers although they usually throw in a few of their own songs too.

They have supported 70s Glam rock band The Sweet and Girlschool and travel the country playing at festivals and bike rallies. A little known bit of Triangle Trivia – they have played at Barlinnie Prison every year for eight years.

On Thursday The Bungalow introducing night will present The Starry Skies with support from The Social.

The Social are a four-piece indie band formed earlier this year. Based in Inverclyde, the present lineup includes members who have previously played in bands such as Dirty Kudos, The Fallen and The Faultlines.

The Social have various influences but have found a sound that resembles bands from the early to mid-noughties such as The Arctic Monkeys and The Fratellis.

The Old Swan have Dirty Jewels in tonight from 8pm and tomorrow in The Shoppers Slot at 4pm Wilcard are back and they are looking forward to playing in this popular afternoon slot.

On Monday from 3pm The Casual Swans will be playing a mixture of blues, pop and general good music vibes. At 6pm on Wednesday there will be the usual midweek acoustic sessions.

The Fantastic Four at The Cave this week is Midnight Hour tonight at 9pm, tomorrow in the early slot at 6pm is Ikon followed by Full Hog at 9pm. On Sunday to finish of a busy weekend of live action is Rumours from 6pm.
