Undefeated sides come a cropper in latest league clashes

-

The unbeaten records came tumbling down in the Paisley Darts League as sides from across two divisions battled it out during week three.

There are now only two teams with unbeaten in the First Division, with Hagg Bar A still leading the way following an 8-1 win away at Caffufals who also had an unblemished record heading into the tie.

The other team still unbeaten remain St Peter’s following an away victory of their own at Keystone A.

Court Bar would have been keen to capitalise on Caffufal’s defeat but they too fell to a 7-2 loss at the hands of Arthurlie Arrows. That win moves the Barrhead side up four places and into sixth in the table.

Charleston Arms also climbed a couple of places in the table following a 7- 2 home win over The Clachan Bar, to put them into fifth on leg difference.

The last game of the First Division proved to be the most exciting as Railway Inn hosted Flying Horse A.

After the singles matches, Railway Inn led 4-2 before their opponents levelled the scoring at 4-4 and went on to take the points in a 5-4 triumph.

In Division Two there is just the one team with an intact playing record after four out of the five unbeaten teams fell by the wayside during Week Three.

The only team to maintain their run of wins are The New Saints, as they saw off Keystone B in a 7-2 scoreline.

Taking over in second spot in the table are Kelburne Cricket following a 7-2 triumph at home to Tartan Rose, with the winning margin moving them up five spots in the league table.

Last week’s leading team, Court Bar B drop to third place after a winning visit from Pockets resulted in a 6-3 scoreline.

Gryffe Inn were also hoping to maintain their good start by they fell to an 8-1 defeat at the hands of Inkerman Bowling Club.

Arthurlie Inns also got themselves off the mark as they recorded their first win of the season following a 7-2 win over rivals, Flying Horse B.

Hazel Pirates also joined the teams getting their season started as they too had a 7-2 win over their local rivals of Hagg Bar B.

Eleven players were on form in the high scores department as they scored maximums in their games this week – with the Hagg Bar A team providing three of them.

There were 12 games finished in 18 darts or less with the best of these being a 14 dart leg from Arthurlie Arrows player Paul Hanvidge.

The best finish of the night was at The Hazel Arms where James Kelly finished one of his games with a 109 checkout.
