Double success for all-girl Scout group
An all-girl Scout patrol showed real grit when the were placed third in a top challenge.
The team from 15th Paisley and District (Lylesland) took part in the Scouts’National Camping Competition, which saw district patrols compete against each other.
The Paisley girls then progressed to a ‘zonal’competition, where all winning districts in Scotland face each other.
The events were held at Auchengillan Scout Centre and the Jock Neish Scout Centre over the same weekend.
The 15th Paisley & District patrol then got a place in the final at Fordell Firs Scout Centre, where 11 patrols competed.
Scout Leader Sharon Neil said:“This is a prestigious competition in our movement, going back to traditional Scouting.
“They are continually marked for every aspect of the camp, including teamwork, leadership, Scouting skills and knowledge, involvement, patrol leader, enjoyment, health and safety, inspections on uniform, kitchen and tentage.
“They had tough competition and did very well with third place.
“They are a lovely group of girls and have made history in the district and perhaps even Scotland by achieving this as an all-girl patrol.“We are so proud of them.”
The patrol was made up of Zara Neil, Assistant Patrol Leader Emily Bell, and Lucy Bell, Lucy Taylor, Elyse Fohr, Skye McGlynn.”
The Scouts meet at Lylesland Church Hall on Friday nights from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
