Farmer’s Boys in welcome return to form

- Larkhall.....................0 Neilston....................2

Neilston made a welcome return to winning ways as a Craig Patterson double sealed a vital three points.

Following a run of five games without a win, the Farmer’s Boys headed to Gasworks Park hopeful of finding their form.

Martin Campbell’s men started on the front foot and Patterson fired them ahead inside four minutes as he beat the offside trap before slotting under the Larkhall goalkeeper to hand his side the perfect start.

Neilston continued to keep up the pressure and Patterson struck his second of the day after some quick thinking.

With goalkeeper Colin McGraw bounding out from goal, Patterson showed a deft touch to lob the ball over the stopper and make it 2-0.

A half- time talking to in the home dressing room clearly worked as Larkhall came out in the second half looking a different side.

Robert Tiropoulos in the Neilston goal had to be alert to save from Craig Forbes and David Breen, while Kevin Campbell should have done better for the hosts.

The keeper continued his heroics with a number of good saves as again he halted Breen in his tracks to seal the points.

Neilston: Tiropoulos, Clark, Payne, Young, Blakey, McBryde, Docherty, Diack, Patterson, Stewart, Haddow.

Subs: McLaughlin, Frizzell, Lovering, Smith, Wilson.
