Kids and their pets loved spooky Halloween capers
Store’s fun, family events raised cash for greyhound rescue
Children and their pets had a spooktacular time at a fundraising event in the Pets at Home store in Linwood.
The store held one of its regular partnerships with Royalheart Greyhound Rescue, which is based at Langbank.
Over the weekend there were lots of activities on offer including face painting, a spooky cake bake sale, spooky kids rabbit workshops and lucky dips for children.
Animals dressed in costume and a clown also kept the children entertained.
Charity fundraiser Lesley Roberts said: “The partnership with the shop is great, we always have a great time and the dogs love to come and meet people and get spoiled.
“We raised more than £400 over two days which was amazing.
“Recently, we have taken on more dogs and it’s always good to know that we have some money in the bank if a dog requires vet treatment and needless to say we have to pay for food and other sundries.
“It’s a great partnership and we are looking forward to more festive events in the lead up to Christmas.”
Holly Beattie from Pets at Home said: “I love to organise events to support the rescue, and we really do work well together for the benefit of the community and of course the dogs in the rescue’s care.
“We have lots of things planned for the community over the festive period.”
