A customer turned the air blue at a Paisley lapdancing club when staff tried to chuck him out, a court was told.

John Wallace, 38, was asked to leave Club Tiger Lily after becoming rowdy with his pals during a late night drinking session in the town.

Mr Wallace, who had just spent £15 on a round of three pints, lost the plot with the club’s boss and began shouting and bawling abuse.

Fiscal depute Margaret McCallum said: “The locus in relation to the offence is Tiger Lily in Paisley.

“This is a club with public and private dancers which is mainly frequented by males.

“At the time of the offence, there were seven customers within the premises, which has CCTV in operation.

“At around 1.25am on the day libelled, the accused was asked to leave the premises because of his abusive behaviour towards other customers.

“The accused refused to leave.

“He had only recently purchased a drink and began acting aggressively.

“The owner requested the attendance of police.

“At 1.30am officers attended and they observed the accused to be shouting and swearing at persons who were present – that is other people in the club.”

The court was told courier driver Wallace, from the town’s Alice Street, referred to the club’s owner as a “f****** c***,” and bemoaned, “I paid £5 for this drink and I will be f****** having it.”

When approached by police he shouted: “F*** the polis,” and “I don’t give a f**k,” and was arrested and removed from the club by officers.

The father-of-two appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to charges of behaving in a disorderly manner and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm, by repeatedly shouting and swearing on May 12.

Defence agent Chris McKenna said Wallace had been out celebrating with friends in the town and had only gone to the club because it had a late licence.

He said: “He spent £15 on three beers.

“One of his friends was behaving unexpectedly rowdy. The manager seemed to target him instead of one of his friends.

“He was asked to leave and said he wanted to finish his drink. The matter escalated from there and he behaved in the manner outlined.”

The lawyer added the dad- of- two, who works full time as a courier, feared the consequences of earning a criminal record as his occupation requires he undergo Disclosure Scotland checks.

Sheriff Murdo MacLeod said: “You have earned a black mark against your name after 38 years of never having come to the attention of police.

“This type of behaviour is out of order and simply cannot be accepted.”

He fined Wallace £400.
