Woman threatened to stab her ex’s partner

Threat was made during video call, court is told

- Chris Taylor

A mum threatened her ex’s new partner during a video call row and fumed: “I’m going to stab you.”

Kerry Cameron, 33, was on the phone to her daughter when her former boyfriend heard her discussing his latest love.

He took the handset – but passed it to his new flame after she began bawling at him.

Cameron turned on Zoe Hullah, 31, and threatened to attack her instead.

A charge of making threats was proved against her during a trial at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Zoe told how she was targeted after getting together with William McPhee, 33.

She said: “We got back together just before Christmas.

“We had been in and out of each other’s lives for 17 years.

He’s got two children who live with him and an ex-partner.

“They hadn’t long been in from school.

“We were all just doing normal things as a family unit in the house.

“Chloe was in the bedroom on her phone.

“She was on FaceTime with her mum.

“William brought the phone into the living room and I could see her face.

“She was saying I was a black cow and I was to stay away from her children.

“She called me an English c**t or English b*****d.

“She said if her kids weren’t in the house she would come up and smash my face in.

“She told me: ‘Go anywhere near my children and I will f*****g stab you.’”

The court heard tensions had risen since William and Zoe got together.

Cameron shares custody of her children with him.

But they are locked in a bitter court battle over access.

Cameron had called daughter Chloe, 11, and told her to keep away from Zoe.

William overheard and snatched the phone before passing it over for the women to sort out their dispute.

The victim claimed she was left too fearful to leave the house after the drama on May 1.

Cameron had denied ranting at her on the call from her home in Paisley’s Lennox Terrace.

She said: “I was on the phone for about 10 minutes.

“Chloe’s dad came in and took the phone out her hand and started asking why I didn’t want her near Zoe. “I was angry.” Sheriff James Spy warned Cameron to behave and insisted he would delay conviction for six months.

He said: “William McPhee was stupid in the extreme to give the phone to Zoe in the circumstances.

“The accused as stupid not to just hang up.

“It would seem unfortunate if a conviction here was used by one side against another in a court action over the children.”

Cameron has been ordered to return to the dock in May.
