Vic­tims’ brav­ery is praised by cops

De­tec­tives have praised vic­tims of a sex fiend who was jailed for six years for his de­praved cam­paign of abuse.

Sick Ja­son Love, 43, com­mit­ted a se­ries of sex at­tacks on three boys across Ren­frew, Pais­ley and Glas­gow be­tween 1987 and 1999.

One of his vic­tims was just three-years-old when he was abused by para­nor­mal ex­pert Love, who be­gan of­fend­ing aged just 12.

Judge Lord Kin­claven or­dered the per­vert to be locked up for six years at the High Court in Ed­in­burgh ear­lier this week.

Yes­ter­day de­tec­tives praised the brav­ery of his vic­tims for help­ing to bring a con­vic­tion.

De­tec­tive In­spec­tor Stu­art Lees, of the Ren­frew­shire and In­ver­clyde Child Abuse In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit, said: “Ja­son Love was a preda­tory in­di­vid­ual who sub­jected young chil­dren to de­spi­ca­ble sex­ual as­saults over a pro­longed pe­riod of time.

“I wel­come his con­vic­tion and sen­tence and thank the vic­tims who showed great courage to re­port his crimes and pro­vide cru­cial ev­i­dence.

“Po­lice Scot­land is com­mit­ted to sup­port­ing the vic­tims of sex­ual of­fences and in­ves­ti­gat­ing th­ese crimes, no mat­ter when they oc­curred.

“I would also take the op­por­tu­nity to ac­knowl­edge the hard work of the ded­i­cated team who ul­ti­mately brought Love to court and jus­tice for the vic­tims.
