Council considers hospitality requests
Both Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire Councils have been approached by Interfaith Scotland to host the Holocaust Memorial Day national event.
The event is set to be held on Monday, January 28, with a standalone event for schools taking place in Eastwood Theatre in Giffnock.
Wednesday’s Finance, Resources and Customer Services Policy Board will be asked to provide around £1,500 towards the event.
Meanwhile, third sector alcohol and gambling organisation RCA Trust is set to be awarded civic hospitality to mark its 40th anniversary on Wednesday, December 12.
This will cost around £1,500.
The trust seeks to limit the effects of alcohol, gambling and other problematic behaviours by providing a range of services and interventions to support individuals and families.
Paisley Indoor Bowling Club has requested civic hospitality to accompany its Blind Bowlers annual game on Friday, December 7 – at a cost of around £700.
The council has also been invited to contribute £200 on an annual basis to the Scottish Provosts’Association.
The budget for civic hospitality in the year 2018/19 is £46,460.
And if the board rubberstamps the latest round of funding, it will stand at £13,860.40.
