Sheriff Seith Ireland warned the accused he faces a jail sentence with the possibilit­y he will be placed on licence when he is eventually released from prison.

He said: “You have pleaded guilty to an extremely serious charge.

“Custody is almost inevitable here, given your record.

“There may be factors which cause you to remain as a risk to the public at large.”

The violent yob told the 19- year- old victim that he was carrying a weapon when he bust into her house at Graham Street.

He demanded that the frightened teen hand over cash during the sickening incident, which happened a ro u n d 8.40pm on Wednesday.

The suspect then fled the scene, taking a two- figure sum of cash as well as the teen’s phone and television set.

Fortunatel­y, the victim was uninjured but was left badly shaken by the horror ordeal.

Detective Inspector Ross MacDonald, of Paisley CID, said: “A 19-year-old woman was threatened by a male in Graham Street in Johnstone on Wednesday night.

“He made it obvious to the victim the he was carrying a weapon and demanded that she hand over cash.

“He stole her iPhone, television and a two-figure sum of cash before making off.

“The victim was left badly shaken by the incident but uninjured.”
