Paisley contributes to £1million target
Paisley’s Poundland store has helped raise £1million to support children and families.
Colleagues and customers from Poundland’s stores across south west Scotland – including in Paisley – have raised a brilliant £6,200 towards the retailer’s £1m fundraising target for its partnership with children’s charities Make-A-Wish, Tommy’s and Whizz-Kidz.
Launched in October last year, the three-year national partnership aimed to raise £1m in its first year through fundraising activities across Poundland’s 755 stores.
The money raised has funded granting 87 magical wishes, research to help save 3,000 babies’ lives and 97 pieces of life-changing mobility equipment.
Staff contributed to the #proudland partnership by doing last April’s Kiltwalk and hosting regular in-store raffles and give-aways.
Jacqueline Wallace, from Poundland, said:“We’re so proud of our Poundland colleagues and customers for their passion and enthusiasm for supporting our fantastic charity partnership, and helping us reach us hit this £1m target.
“Without the loyal support of our customers, the first year of the #proudland partnership wouldn’t have been so successful and helped improve the lives of children and their families. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this fundraising, your generosity has made a life-changing difference.”
